Welcome to my web site and thank you for your interest in my plans to seek re-election as Wilton's First Selectman.

When I first campaigned for this office in 2005, my goal was to work with everyone to make needed improvements to our community and to take the actions necessary to vitalize the village center and to build a better Wilton. Since the day I took office, I have done my best to deliver on that promise.

While I believe we have made a lot of progress over the last few years, there is more work to be done to make our town an even better place to live and to raise a family. And that is the prime reason why I wish to continue to serve the community and am seeking re-election and your support on November 8th. (A copy of the press release announcing my re-election candidacy can be viewed in the "Latest News and Endorsements" section of my web site.)

These are very challenging times. A long stubborn recession has impacted many citizens' homes, savings accounts, investments, pensions, and jobs. During my time in office, I have always tried to plan ahead to manage expenditures and manpower costs. This meant a hiring freeze when I first took office - a hard, but necessary decision, plus continuing cost reduction actions that have kept the Town solvent, our fundamental services intact and maintained our triple A municipal bond rating, the highest rating attainable from Moody's Investor's Services.

As we look ahead, the next four years are expected to be equally difficult. Having served on the Board of Finance for five years, as Chairman for three of those years and for almost six years as your First Selectman, I am confident that I have the operating experience; financial skills and the ability to work collaboratively that are required to manage the Town of Wilton efficiently over the next election term period.

It has been an honor for me to represent and serve all the citizens of Wilton for the last 5 1/2 years. In the weeks ahead, I will be communicating what we have accomplished together, as well as my vision and plans for the next four challenging years. I am also eager to hear from citizens about issues and ideas to enable additional improvement of the quality of life in our Town. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

If you care for Wilton as much as I do and are concerned about the future of our community, your active help is critical to my campaign efforts. Thank you again for visiting my web site and for your continued support and encouragement.
